Depression Therapy in Ohio

Depression lies. We help you find the truth again.

Depression isn't just sadness — it can look like numbness, exhaustion, irritability, or an inability to care about things you used to love. It tells you that nothing will help and that you're a burden for even trying. At Resilient Wellness Ohio, we've heard those lies before and we know how to work through them. Our therapists offer warm, direct support grounded in what actually works.

Recognize yourself?

Signs you might benefit

You worked hard for your career and you're still in the process of building it. Your success shouldn't cost you your mental health, happiness, or joy. You don't need to check every box — if any of these resonate, you deserve to make space for yourself. Pushing through isn't enough. You deserve to live and thrive in your own resilience.

Persistent low mood or feeling empty inside
Loss of interest or pleasure in activities you used to enjoy
Fatigue and low energy even after rest
Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
Changes in sleep — sleeping too much or not enough
Changes in appetite or weight
Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
Withdrawing from friends, family, or responsibilities
A softly lit bedroom with the curtain partially open and morning light falling on the bed — small honest first steps

How we help

Our approach

We use Behavioral Activation, CBT, and interpersonal approaches tailored to what's driving your depression. We're not going to tell you to think positive — we're going to help you understand why your brain got stuck in this pattern and work systematically to shift it. Therapy for depression takes honesty on both sides, and we won't sugarcoat the hard parts. What you'll get is a therapist who's in your corner every step of the way.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need therapy or medication for depression?

Therapy, medication, or a combination of both can all be effective for depression. We're therapists, not prescribers — but we can help you assess your symptoms and refer you to a psychiatrist if medication seems warranted. Many clients benefit from both simultaneously, and we're comfortable working alongside prescribers as part of your care team.

I barely have the energy to get through the day. How can I do therapy?

That's exactly when therapy matters most, and telehealth removes a huge barrier. You don't need to get dressed up, commute, or sit in a waiting room. You can join your session from bed if that's where you are. Our therapists are trained to meet you where you're at, not where you wish you were.

What if I have thoughts of suicide or self-harm?

Please reach out. If you're in immediate danger, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room. If you're having passive thoughts without immediate intent, we want to hear about it — it's something we talk about openly in therapy. We're trained in safety planning and will not panic or dismiss you.

Can therapy really help with long-term depression?

Yes, though longer-standing depression typically requires more time and consistency. The goal isn't to eliminate sad feelings forever — it's to help you develop a different relationship with your mood, reduce the frequency and intensity of depressive episodes, and build a life that feels worth living. That's meaningful work and it's completely achievable.
