Individual therapy in Ohio
Start prioritizing your relationship with you.
One-on-one sessions — weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Therapy should be accessible anywhere. Stress doesn't fit into your schedule, but we do — our therapists work with flexible schedules to meet your needs in a virtual office or one of our in-person locations.
About this service
What is individual therapy?
Individual therapy is a dedicated, confidential space between you and a licensed therapist. Therapy can empower you, create new perspectives, and help you experience the life you intended before anxiety, depression, or challenges interfered.
Sessions are 50 minutes via secure video or phone (or 60 minutes in-person at our Willoughby or Painesville office). 30-minute check-ins are available for clients who prefer to decrease frequency. We limit our caseload intentionally so every client gets individualized care, and we stay flexible to address unexpected stressors as they come up.
Therapy works best when there's a strong therapeutic relationship — so we start with a free 15-minute consultation to make sure we're the right fit before you commit to anything.

How we work
Our approach
We use what the research says works — and we adapt it to fit you.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
DBT skills help you manage intense emotions, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and walk a middle path — so life's challenges build resilience instead of just being endured.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Identify and shift the thought patterns driving anxiety, depression, and other struggles. One of the most researched approaches available.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while taking action toward the values and life you actually want.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
Goal-oriented therapy that emphasizes your independence — we focus on what's working, what you want more of, and the next step forward.

FAQ
Common questions
How much does individual therapy cost?
Telehealth sessions are $150 for a 50-minute intake or follow-up session. We also offer 30-minute check-in sessions at $95 for clients who prefer to decrease frequency. In-person sessions at our Willoughby or Painesville office are $200 for 60 minutes. A free 15-minute consultation is available before you commit. Sliding scale slots are available — ask us about current availability.
Do you accept insurance?
As an out-of-network provider, Resilient Wellness does not bill insurance directly. We offer superbills you can submit for reimbursement. Part of why we made this choice is confidentiality — your care stays between you and your therapist, with nothing on file with an insurer tracking your diagnosis. We accept HSA/FSA, debit, and major credit cards.
How often should I come to therapy?
Session frequency depends on your goals and what you're working through. Most clients start weekly or biweekly and adjust over time. Your therapist will collaborate with you on a schedule that makes sense — no one-size-fits-all approach here.
What is the difference between your telehealth and in-person sessions?
The therapeutic work is the same either way. Telehealth is available throughout the week for any Ohio resident via secure video or phone. In-person sessions are offered at our Willoughby and Painesville offices for clients who prefer face-to-face appointments.
How do I know if individual therapy is right for me?
If you're struggling with your mental health, feeling stuck, or just want dedicated support to work through something — individual therapy is worth exploring. Our free 15-minute consult is a no-pressure way to ask questions and see if we're a good match.
