Adolescent Therapy in Ohio
Counseling for teens struggling with anxiety, depression, or life transitions in Ohio.
Therapy is a safe, nonjudgmental place to learn stress management strategies, explore emotions and values, and develop healthier coping skills. We help teens understand that needing support — and being able to ask for it — is the most instrumental tool in being successful in life. We work with adolescents ages 12 and up, collaborating with schools, healthcare providers, and parents when it serves the teen.
Recognize yourself?
Signs you might benefit
You worked hard for your career and you're still in the process of building it. Your success shouldn't cost you your mental health, happiness, or joy. You don't need to check every box — if any of these resonate, you deserve to make space for yourself. Pushing through isn't enough. You deserve to live and thrive in your own resilience.

How we help
Our approach
Our approach is built around four components: a safe space, psychoeducation, parent involvement (based on each teen's needs), and collaborative treatment with schools and healthcare providers. We use developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approaches including DBT skills and CBT. Sessions are confidential with clear, developmentally appropriate limits — so teens can actually speak freely while parents stay appropriately informed.

Frequently asked questions
At what age do you work with adolescents?
We work with teens ages 12 and up. Individual requests for younger minors are considered on a case-by-case basis depending on therapist availability and fit. For younger children, we're happy to provide referrals to child therapists in our network who are better suited for that developmental stage.
How does confidentiality work when my teen is in therapy?
We discuss confidentiality clearly with both the teen and parents at the start of treatment. In general, what teens share in sessions stays private — this is important for building trust and getting honest engagement. The exceptions are safety concerns: if your teen is at risk of harming themselves or others, we will involve you. We'll discuss this framework together so everyone understands it from day one.
My teen doesn't want to go to therapy. What do I do?
This is incredibly common. It often helps to frame therapy as their space — not a place to get reported back to parents, not a punishment. Our free 15-minute consult can be a low-pressure first step. Sometimes just meeting the therapist once breaks down the resistance. We've worked with plenty of skeptical teens who later said therapy was one of the most valuable things they did.
Will you keep me updated as the parent?
We'll discuss the communication structure upfront with both you and your teen. In general, we provide parents with progress updates — whether treatment goals are being worked on and whether the teen is engaged — without sharing the specific content of sessions. If there are safety concerns, we bring you in directly. This balance helps teens stay in the room.
